60 Years of Educational and Cultural Exchange
For over sixty years, the Sausalito Sister Cities programs have been enhancing international relationships through educational and cultural exchange, fostering peace and international understanding through global people-to-people programs.

Viña del Mar, Chile
Est: 1960, Re-established: 2011
The purpose and mission of the Viña del Mar Sausalito Sister City Program is to promote a cross-cultural and economic exchange between the two cities.
Sakaide, Japan
Est. 1988
Over 450 high school students have participated in this Japan – American exchange, learning leadership development, cultural and community exposure and a keen global understanding.

Cascais, Portugal
Est. 2013
This youth sailing exchange program fosters multi-cultural and education exchange between American and Portuguese youth. In 2015, the first year of this exchange saw Sausalito host six sailors from Cascais.

2024: Youth Sailing Exchange with Sausalito Yacht Club and Clube Naval of Cascais
