In 2024, the Sausalito-Sakaide Sister City Exchange Program continued 36 years of proud tradition fostering cultural understanding and friendship between Sausalito, California, and Sakaide, Japan.

The Marin Independent Journal recently reported that Sausalito welcomed three firefighters, or “bomberos,” and eight businesswomen from Viña del Mar, Chile, as part of the Sister Cities Program’s exchange.
