Deana Kardel connected with the Sister City program after an extended vacation to Vina Del Mar, Chile. Possessing a new love of Chile and a passion for Spanish, she learned of the 60-year historical Sausalito/Vina Del Mar connection. Immediately hooked, she returned to Chile as part of the Sausalito delegation of women who presented to their Chilean counterparts and participated in the South American Conference for Women Owned Businesses and Professionals. Recently accepted to the Sister City Board as a Member-at-Large, she also serves as part of the Vina Del Mar planning committee that hosts the visiting Chilean delegation.

For the past 12 years, Deana has worked as an executive performance coach and mediator. Drawing on 30 + years of business, leadership, and dispute resolution experience in executive level positions, she hopes to share her professional insights and experience across cultural lines. Deana comes to the Sister City Board with a successful track record of shaping and implementing programs that foster positive change, professional development, and personal satisfaction for highly accomplished executives and companies. She was featured in the Book entitled, Mastering the Art of Success, and presents regularly at retreats and conferences on the topic of Successfully Managing Difficult Conversations, Speaking with Authority, Creating Positive Team Cultures, and Leadership.
