Susan has served as the President of Sausalito Sister Cities Inc. since its inception in September 2012 until January of 2021. Her unwavering leadership has been an incredible asset to the growth and success of the Sausalito Sister Cities, Inc. program.
Susan has been the President of Sausalito Sister Cities Inc. since its inception in September 2012 when Sausalito Sister Cities Inc. incorporated with by-laws allowing the Sausalito Sakaide Sister City Program to expand to oversee 3 sister cities—Cascais, (Portugal), Sakaide (Japan ),and Vina Del Mar (Chile). Prior to that she was the Board Chair for the Sausalito Sakaide Sister City Student Exchange Program which incorporated in 1989. Susan visited Sakaide several times with Sausalito’s delegation of Sausalito and Marin county students. She also hosted Japanese student delegates when they visited Marin County. Susan has also participated in Sausalito delegations to Vina Del Mar.
Professionally Susan has 30 years of legal office management experience and currently works at The Veen Firm, P.C., San Francisco. In the past she worked at Hanson Law Firm, San Francisco as the Chief Marketing Officer and at Gordon and Rees, San Francisco as the Director of Professional Development.
Susan is an active citizen and volunteer in Sausalito where she is a Board Member of the Sausalito Yacht Club Auxiliary, and a member of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce and Women’s Club. She has received several awards for her volunteer work both locally and in San Francisco.
